Project Manager (IT)

Job Brief:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead and manage projects from inception to completion, with a focus on ERP implementation and software product development. The ideal candidate will have expertise in project management methodologies (Agile and Traditional) and a solid understanding of the functional and technical aspects of ERP systems, software products, and solutions. Your success will not only depend on delivering projects on time and within budget but also on achieving customer satisfaction, benefit realization, and sustained outcomes.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage multiple projects and teams to ensure timely delivery, adherence to budget, and compliance with quality standards.
Prioritize customer satisfaction and ensure benefits are realized and sustained post-project completion.
Establish, develop, and refine project management processes, practices, standards, and procedures.
Support the PMO by implementing and adhering to best practices, policies, and standard operating procedures.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans across all project knowledge areas.
Ensure clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle using appropriate channels.
Prepare accurate progress reports and updates to facilitate decision-making by higher management.
Identify, assess, monitor, and respond to risks and issues proactively, escalating as needed.
Monitor internal and external factors that may impact the project, implementing timely preventive and corrective actions.
Plan and execute change management strategies to ensure benefits realization and sustainability.
Define and manage success factors, acceptance criteria, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, risks, and issues.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and practices, focusing on business process enhancement, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
Provide support and input to sales and presales teams in preparing tenders and RFPs.

Requirements

Technical Skills

Expertise in selecting and applying the appropriate project management methodology (Agile, Traditional, or Hybrid).
Strong experience managing ERP implementation and software product development projects.
Ability to engage stakeholders effectively, with skills in listening, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
Proficiency in managing all project aspects, including scope, schedule, risks, and communication.
Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) and hands-on experience with MS Project.

Domain Knowledge

Comprehensive understanding of ERP and business support systems (HRMS, Finance, Supply Chain, CRM, SRM, Manufacturing, Logistics, Warehouse, Inventory, EAM).
Experience managing product development projects and coordinating functional and technical aspects with respective teams.
Knowledge of SaaS, cloud, and on-premises solutions and related deployment technologies.

Soft Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building strong relationships.
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Proficient in documentation and project management tools.
Strong presentation skills and the ability to convey information clearly.

Experience

5+ years of proven experience as Project Manager in the software industry / ERP implementation.
At least 3 years managing Agile projects and 3+ years with Traditional project management.
3 years of experience managing ERP implementation projects.
5 years of experience with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project).

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or IT. (mandatory).
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (mandatory).
Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification (Preferred).

Language

Fluent in English / Arabic Speaker (prefer Omani National)
