Cyber Security Engineer - Remote - Freelance

Location: Europe, #remote
Availability: 40 hours per week
Contract Duration: 12 months

Our client is seeking a skilled Cyber Security Engineer to enhance and maintain its security framework and operations. Please see more details below:

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and improve security tools, including:
• Microsoft Defender (Windows/MacOS endpoints)
• SentinelOne (Servers/Linux endpoints)
• BeyondTrust PAM (privileged access management for Windows).
• Troubleshoot endpoint/server protection issues and validate exclusion requests.
• Drive adoption and improvement of security tools organization wide.
• Monitor and respond to emerging threats, improving tool configurations.
• Participate in incident response, including triage, containment, and recovery.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Expertise in network protocols, application security, and EDR tools.
• Knowledge of Web application firewalls, IPS, IDS, and antimalware solutions.
• Familiarity with security management frameworks (e.g., ISO27001), maturity models (CMMC, VAD/TISAX), and Zero Trust principles. (Nice to have)
