Wio Bank is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Cards team, responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of our card systems. This role will focus on delivering high-performance software solutions for card processing, guiding the team to produce clean, secure code, and innovating solutions that push the boundaries of digital banking technology.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, particularly in the cards domain, and will contribute to the technical direction of our card systems while mentoring junior engineers. You’ll work on scalable solutions, ensuring security and compliance with industry standards, and collaborate across teams to integrate these solutions seamlessly.

💼 Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Design and Implement Scalable Solutions: Design and implement scalable, high-performance software solutions for card processing systems, ensuring reliability, security, and compliance with relevant standards.

🔹 Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, QA, etc.) to ensure seamless integration with other systems, providing technical expertise and resolving integration challenges.

🔹 Mentorship and Guidance: Mentor junior engineers, providing technical leadership and ensuring adherence to high-quality software development practices. Foster an environment of collaboration and innovation within the team.

🔹 Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Keep current with trends in the cards domain and emerging technologies, applying new ideas to improve and innovate the team’s work.

🔹 Collaborate with Product Owners: Work with product owners to define and prioritize project requirements, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with business goals.

🔹 System Scalability, Reliability, and Security: Ensure all card systems meet the highest standards of scalability, reliability, and security, with an emphasis on PCI-DSS compliance and secure coding practices.

🔹 Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, ensuring the team’s work is well-documented and easily accessible for future reference.

🔹 Code Reviews and Quality Assurance: Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards, and contribute to maintaining high-quality software development practices.

🔹 Research and Development: Contribute to R&D efforts, exploring new technologies and solutions to improve the card systems and enhance the overall product offering.

🔹 Microservices Architecture: Develop and maintain microservices architecture for card transaction processing, ensuring efficient, scalable, and secure systems.

🔹 Secure Coding Practices: Implement secure coding practices to protect sensitive financial data and ensure compliance with industry standards for data privacy and security.

🔹 Hiring Contributions: Contribute to the recruitment process, assisting with hiring and onboarding of new team members to expand the team's capabilities.

🤩 What We’re Looking For:

✅ Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on the cards domain (card payment processing systems, card issuer-as-a-service, etc.).
• Strong academic background from a Tier 1 college.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations such as PCI-DSS, tokenization, and various types of card payments and reconciliation.
• Strong programming skills, particularly in Java and related technologies used for card payment systems.
  
  

✅ Experience:

• Proven experience with card payment processing systems such as Visa, Mastercard, or Amex.
• Experience with microservices architecture and building scalable, high-performance systems for transaction processing.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  
  

✅ Education:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  
  

✅ Technical Skills:

• Expertise in secure coding practices and ensuring compliance with financial and data security standards.
• Experience with cloud-based technologies like AWS or Azure is a plus.

• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
