VP Data Engineering – Dubai

Our client are one of the regions largest family conglomerates looking to appoint their next VP of Data Engineering. You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining the data infrastructure scalability and security.

Responsibilities:

• Support the development of data strategy and internal processes of the organization.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement scalable and efficient data processing systems and architectures that meet the organization's needs
• Design and develop scalable and robust data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming large volumes of data from various sources.
• Optimize and tune data pipelines for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and monitoring systems to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Design and maintain data warehouses, data lakes, and other data storage systems.
• Develop and maintain data processing frameworks and tools to facilitate efficient data analysis and reporting.
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a team of data engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience implementing Advanced Analytics, data engineering and Reporting Solution.
• Certified in Data warehousing, ETL, Analytics and Reporting Solution is preferred
• Hands on experience with Python, AirFlow
• Extensive use of SQL and RDBMS systems (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
• Proficiency with Data wrangling, Data visualization, Analytics and Reporting
• Experience working with Hyperscalers, cloud platforms and knowledge of cloud-based data storage and processing services
