Junior Portfolio Manager - Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Portfolio Manager to join our team at a leading Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM) in Luxembourg. The successful candidate will support senior portfolio managers in managing and monitoring investments, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Management:

• Assist in the management of Alternative Investment Funds managed by the company.
• Support in the monitoring of portfolio performance and assist in the preparation of performance reports for senior management and investors.
• Support the AIFM in the investment implementation process and relevant controls. (pre- and post-closing)
  
  

Regulatory Compliance:

• Assist in complying with relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines, particularly those pertaining to AIFM regulations relevant for portfolio management.
• Assist in liaising with regulatory bodies and ensure timely submission of statutory filings and reports.
• Assist timely communication of significant developments and compliance matters to relevant stakeholders.
  
  

Corporate Governance and Operational Support:

• Collaborate with internal teams and fund administrators to support and facilitate portfolio management processes.
• Assist in the preparation and review of legal documents related to investments.
• Help coordinate, as a central point, the full suite of fund administration activities with third parties, Deal Teams, and the Boards, including audit processes.
• Assistance in the AIFM’s budgeting and financial planning
• Assistance in the financial reporting and audit process
  
  

Qualifications and Skills

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Law, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA, ICSA) is a plus.
  
  

Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in portfolio management or in a company secretarial role.
• Experience in the alternative investment sector and familiarity with Luxembourg’s regulatory environment is highly desirable.
  
  

Skills:

• Strong analytical and financial litterate.
• Proficiency in CoseC and Corporate Governance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in French, German, or another European language is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and financial analysis software.
