Network and System Security Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Network and System Security Specialist to join our high-tech software company. In this role, you will oversee and enhance the security of our entire network and system infrastructure, working proactively to safeguard our digital assets and sensitive data. This is a critical position where you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a robust, secure, and resilient IT environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Security Management:

Design, implement, and maintain firewall configurations to protect internal and external network boundaries.

Monitor and respond to security alerts and events using tools like Wazuh SIEM and Nessus Scanner.

Analyze and mitigate vulnerabilities identified through regular assessments.

Implement and manage Wallix PAM to enforce privileged access control and auditing.

System Security Operations:

Ensure the security of Linux and Windows servers, applying updates and patches promptly.

Manage endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions such as Kaspersky EDR to prevent, detect, and respond to security threats.

Perform regular system audits and compliance checks to ensure adherence to security standards.

Virtualization and Cloud Security:

Secure virtualized environments, including VMware, AWS EC2, and Azure instances.
Configure and monitor Kubernetes clusters to prevent container-based threats.
Implement cloud security best practices for multi-cloud environments.
Data and Application Security:

Protect and monitor databases (PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ) from unauthorized access and attacks.
Develop secure configurations and policies for system and application infrastructure.
Incident Response and Reporting:

Develop and execute incident response plans for network and system security breaches.
Conduct post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, incidents, and security measures.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
Proven experience in network and system security roles, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
Hands-on experience with tools and technologies:

Firewall management (e.g., Fortinet).
Virtualization platforms (VMware).
Kubernetes and container security.
Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
Security tools (Kaspersky EDR, Nessus Scanner, Wazuh SIEM, Wallix PAM).
Databases (PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ).

In-depth knowledge of network protocols, system hardening techniques, and identity access management (IAM).
Familiarity with compliance standards such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and SOC 2.

Preferred Skills:

Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.
Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and integration with CI/CD pipelines.
Advanced knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture.
