Data Specialist

Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is seeking a Toxicological Data Curator to support the development of high-quality toxicology datasets using AI-driven extraction methods. This role involves validating and curating toxicological data derived from large language models (LLMs) to ensure scientific accuracy and reliability. Job Details:

📅 Start Date: ASAP (latest by April 1, 2025)

📆 Duration: 6 months (extension possible)

📍 Location: Basel (Hybrid – 51% onsite, rest remote)

👥 Team Size: 7

⏳ Workload: 80-100%

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Validation & Curation: Verify AI-extracted toxicology data against original research, regulatory documents, and databases.
• Quality Control: Ensure consistency, completeness, and scientific accuracy in curated toxicological datasets.
• Toxicology Expertise: Apply toxicological knowledge to assess preclinical and clinical toxicity data, safety biomarkers, and risk assessments.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with computational toxicologists, data scientists, and regulatory teams to refine data extraction and curation workflows.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed validation records and generate reports summarizing data quality metrics and findings.

Requirements:

✔️ Master’s degree in Biology, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Drug Development, Biotechnology, or a related field (Required)

✔️ Experience with data curation, annotation, or systematic review methodologies (Preferred)

✔️ Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

✔️ Critical thinking and problem-solving skills in scientific data evaluation

✔️ Fluent in English (C1 level)

✔️ Basic understanding of machine learning, LLMs, or NLP tools is a plus
