The Role:

We're seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to lead the data/microservice infrastructure, CICD to AWS and the implementation of ML models.

You will play a critical role in building and scaling our data platform, ensuring its reliability, performance, and scalability. This includes designing and implementing robust data pipelines, deploying and managing machine learning models, and establishing best practices for data quality and governance. You will work closely with engineering and product teams to translate business needs into technical solutions, contributing to the development of innovative data-driven products and features. You will be part of a fully remote team; we currently hire all of our employees as contractors.

Key Responsibilities

Design high level strategies for Data Science:

• Implement methodologies suitable for Buenro to ensure a smooth end-to-end project implementation
• Define and implement best practices in data collection, transformation, and analysis.

• Build data-driven solutions for user behavior analysis, recommendation systems, and experience optimization.
• Ensure seamless integration of machine learning models into production environments.
  
  
  

Design high-level data architecture and infrastructure:

• Collaborate with engineering teams to design robust data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Ensure data quality, scalability, and security across all data platforms.
  
  
  

Frontend and Backend Collaboration:

• Work closely with frontend and backend teams to ensure data is properly utilized in user-facing features.
• Provide guidance on API design to enable seamless data flow between services.
  
  
  

Performance Optimization:

• Analyze and optimize the performance of machine learning models and data pipelines.
• Implement monitoring and alert systems for data workflows and models in production.
  
  
  

CI/CD Pipeline Enhancements:

• Optimize and maintain the CI/CD pipeline for mobile repositories, streamlining the development and deployment processes.
• Automate testing and deployment of machine learning models to AWS Lambda or ECS.
  
  
  

Engineering Excellence:

• Shape the engineering culture by promoting best practices in software development, testing, and code review.
• Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the team remains at the forefront of innovation.
  
  
  

The Stack:

• Data Science: Python, MongoDB, RabbitMQ.
• Infrastructure: Terraform to deploy to Lambda function or ECS.
  
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in data science or machine learning roles.
• Experience designing and maintaining data pipelines and microservice architectures.
• Experience in NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of AWS components.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deploying to AWS (Lambda, ECS).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams.
