What you get to do in this role:

  • Become a member of the cloud networking team taking on all proactive elements of networking.
  • Responsible for network capacity augmentation as we grow.
  • Proactively engage and effectively communicate with multiple parties during the execution of changes or complex troubleshooting.
  • Work efficiently in the globally distributed remote working environment.
  • Perform network device code upgrades, deployments, decommissions, and RMAs across the globe either manually or via automation tools.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and internal Data Center and Ops teams for network deployment.
  • Perform troubleshooting and resolving network issues in response to incidents in given SLA time.
  • Develop and maintain internal documentation and processes to assist with operating the network infrastructure at scale.
  • Triaging and remediating network security vulnerability items.
  • Perform ongoing analysis of the data in CMDB and the monitoring systems to ensure hygiene, alert thresholds, and validate alarms are present in the NOC Console.
  • Partner with the Data Center and Ops teams to plan and execute software code upgrades and device maintenance.
  • Provide feedback to the CNS team on architecture, design decisions, tools used, and automations as needed.
  • Feedback to Infrastructure and Development teams on how to improve overall quality and reliability of the service.
  • Ability to own and drive specific tasks or projects as identified by the Network engineering and operations teams.
  • You will be using Ansible, python modules and other in-house automation tools to perform the deployments and troubleshooting.
  • Able to work in both commercial and regulated market environments.

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • Possess a solid understanding of and have experience with most of the following network technologies: 802.1q, HSRP/VRRP, OSPF, ISIS, MCLAG, BGP, BFD, NAT, ACLs, IPSEC, and SNMP. Knowledge of MPLS is a plus.
  • Solid knowledge and familiarity with Juniper's JunOS, Cisco IOS, Cumulus (linux) and RestAPI considered a plus.
  • In depth knowledge of troubleshooting and monitoring tools like tcpdump, Wireshark and ability to learn fast in-house monitoring tools.
  • Linux/unix basic system administration and troubleshooting knowledge are plus.
  • Automation focused mindset and ability to learn fast.
  • Demonstrate the technical expertise and participate / contribute to different meetings with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of scripting (especially related to Cisco, Juniper, Linux based devices), Ansible, Python or Go is extremely valuable.
  • JNCIA or CCNA/CCNP preferred.
