Product Owner (Available for relocation to the Netherlands)
Challenge yourself and us
At AdvanceWorks, we learn together, grow together, and have fun together. And we do all this while creating great software solutions for clients across many industries and geographies.
We are constantly challenging ourselves and each other to use the latest technologies and the best methodologies and make sure we walk the talk.
Exciting as it may sound, we also have our red lines: each of us is a unique person, with unique opinions, beliefs, options, interests, hopes, and fears. With the right to speak its mind, be mindful of the common goals, and always be constructive.
It is the way we respect each other, discuss different points of view, and challenge ourselves and each other, while tackling our common challenges, that makes us strong. United. Brave. And sure that there will be a better tomorrow, even when we do mistakes. Because we learn from our failures and successes.
What will be your role
In this role, you will take on the responsibility of managing the product development lifecycle for a company specializing in innovative software solutions for the maritime industry. You will prioritize and oversee the product backlog, guiding the team on the implementation of key features and updates. Working closely with external developers, you will ensure timely delivery and support all phases of implementation. Your strategic input will help shape the product vision, ensuring it meets business goals and enhances customer satisfaction through valuable new features. You'll also manage risks, optimize resources, and align updates with revenue potential.
You will integrate a technical team and you will help our client to accomplish their business objectives by:
- Collaborate with the Program Manager to define and maintain a clear product vision and strategic roadmap aligned with market demands.
- Create and manage the product backlog, including user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria, prioritizing tasks based on business goals and customer feedback.
- Assess and report on the revenue potential of new features, focusing on growth and customer retention while collaborating with sales and marketing.
- Act as the main liaison between the development team and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment on priorities and providing regular updates.
- Work closely with an external development team to meet product requirements, participating in Agile ceremonies to align development efforts with product goals.
- Provide continuous guidance to the development team on user stories and functionality, supporting all phases of implementation.
- Monitor product performance using key performance indicators and oversee product launches to minimize user disruption.
- Identify potential risks and technical challenges proactively, developing mitigation strategies to balance business needs and technical constraints.
- Make cost-effective decisions regarding product development, conducting impact analyses on feature efforts versus their revenue and customer satisfaction potential.
Who will work by your side?
You will work directly on a major project for a prestigious client specializing in innovative software solutions for the maritime industry.
You will directly work with an international team and thus become part of a team of people that care about each other. Amazing people and professionals who are proud about their technology and leadership skills, yet eager to learn from you, and to be challenged.
They will want to know you and understand your motivations and aspirations, but also your pitfalls and development needs. People that will be there for a personalized onboarding, to listen to you, and to challenge you. To help you become a better person and professional, challenging you and helping you to challenge yourself. And to invite you for a drink after work (yes, even in remote!), because there is nothing as good and positive as a good laugh.
You’ll also work side by side with our clients, spanning a wide range of industries and countries. And that means working with more bright minds, be empathetic about each other, and always keep in mind that every brilliant piece of software we produce has two objectives: to achieve a specific business goal, and to make the people who built it as successful as you want to be.
What should you bring to the team:
- 1-2 years of experience as a Product Owner, preferably in a SaaS environment.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience in managing product development lifecycles.
- Experience with low-code development platforms such as Outsystems is advantageous.

- The passion to do what you love the most, and the perseverance to make your/the teams’ dreams come true

- A mentorship program since day 1
