Backend Developer

This is a remote position.

We are looking for two Back-End Engineers to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for integrating external APIs, implementing web scraping, and designing database structures and software architectures within a Nest JS/TypeScript framework. Experience in fintech and network security is highly valued.

Compensation:

USD 3.1K - 3.9K/month.

What makes you a strong candidate:

• You are proficient API integration, back-end development, database design, and TypeScript.
• English - Native or fully fluent.
  
  

Responsibilities and more:

• Shift: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM PST.
• Positions Available: 2.
• Work Location: Flexible, remote option available.
• Educational Level Required: Bachelor's degree.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree.
• Experience: Proven experience as a Back-End Engineer or in a similar role.
  
  

Hard Skills:

• Experience with Nest JS and TypeScript (or a similar NodeJS-based framework).
• Proficiency in data structures and algorithms.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and web security.
• Ability to write end-to-end tests (E2E).
  
  

Soft Skills:

• Self-starter – the ability to stay unblocked and find creative solutions.
• Team player – assisting colleagues, writing documentation, and reviewing code.
• Attention to detail – proactively identifying edge cases.
  
  

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience with web scraping.
• Familiarity with setting up monitoring/alerting systems.
• Experience working with AWS.
• Experience with fintech APIs.
• Project Management – the ability to manage timelines with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• API Integration: Connect with external APIs to manage HSA/FSA accounts.
• Web Scraping: Implement scraping solutions for common online merchants (e.g., Amazon) to track user order histories.
• Database & Software Architecture: Design scalable database structures and contribute to backend software architecture.
• System Security & Networking: Implement web security measures and ensure secure data transfer.
• End-to-End Testing: Write and maintain E2E tests to guarantee system reliability.
• Collaboration: Work within a Nests/TypeScript framework, provide code reviews and support the team.
