Software developer

One of our Federal government clients seeking to engage multiple Software developer at Canberra/Melbourne/Brisbane/Perth.

Role: Associate Software Developer - (APS 4 and 5 Level)

Location of work: Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth

Length of contract: 15 months

Contract extensions: 24 months extension (two extensions of twelve months each)

Security clearance: Must have Negative Vetting Level 2 or Positive Vetting security clearance

Key duties and responsibilities

CLIENT requires multiple APS5 equivalent Software Developers to fill positions across the organisation.

Suitable candidates will be required to complete CLIENT’s Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA). This will be required either prior to commencing or within 12 months of commencement, as required by the assigned work area.

Job Duties and Responsibilities may include:

• Design, build, integrate, deliver and document software capability that meets business requirements.
• Escalate issues and seek advice from team leader or project manager in a timely manner.
• Document technical processes in accordance with organisational policies and procedures and promote bi-directional knowledge transfer within a team environment.
• Assist with automation capability for existing systems and integrate Commercial Off-The-Shelf and Government Off-The-Shelf software.
• Monitor systems and infrastructure; provide assistance with support requests to fix and troubleshoot issues.
• Implement and maintain automated testing. Provide feedback on implementation and design aspects as required from other areas.
• Assist in the continuous improvement process by developing and enhancing procedures and produce documentation, including detailed design documentation, in accordance with CLIENT policies and procedures.

Technical skills

• Experience in development languages/frameworks such as Python, Java, Java Messaging Service, Javascript/ Typescript, J2EE, RESTful web services, Django and Ruby, Kubernetes, OpenShift. • Experience in or knowledge of Puppet, Ansible and Docker automation tools.
