The Oncology R&D Scientific Communications and Engagement team are looking for a project coordinator to lead on Oncology Forum logistics and support the delivery of internal communications and events within Oncology R&D functions. This is a high profile, rotational development opportunity where you can simultaneously develop your project management and communications skills whilst expanding your network across Oncology R&D.
The Oncology Forum was created as a ‘place for unfinished ideas’ – a weekly forum for teams to discuss and debate scientific topics and stimulate collaboration across Oncology. The main focus (approx. 60%) would be leading on the logistics of the Forum – collaborating with the committee, chair and the communications lead to ensure a full schedule of diverse topics and high engagement from senior leaders. The Science Engagement Coordinator will also connect in with the Science Communications and Engagement leads across Oncology R&D, providing guidance and materials for driving engagement with the Forum.
Approximately 40% of the role would be supporting the delivery of internal communications and events in high priority areas across Oncology R&D. This would involve collaborating with the communications leads in this area on activities such as reporting, post-congress debriefs, town halls, Ask Me Anything Sessions, recognition events etc. A diverse set of experiences are open to the post holder and can be tailored to your development interests.
Typical Accountabilities:
Oncology Forum
- Project Managing the Oncology Forum schedule
- Requesting session information from presenters
- Coordinating pre and post-event communications for Workplace
- Issuing and updating invitations from the Oncology Forum calendar
- Liaising with virtual meetings team to ensure support for broadcasting to Workplace
- Capturing audience engagement metrics
- Ensuring external speakers have CDAs/ contracts in place
- Booking meeting rooms for presenters
- Maintaining the Oncology Forum distribution list
- Training a delegate to ensure business continuity across timezones
Oncology R&D Communications
- Manage the calendar of events
- Secure hosts and presenters for the above and schedule relevant briefings
- Support with pre and post communications for these events e.g. invitations, feedback collection
- Lead on technology planning and execution for these events (in partnership with virtual meetings team)
- Support with other communications projects as required/ interest
Requirements
- Experience of global team-working and communicating with multiple stakeholders
- Strong organisation and forward-planning skills
- Excellent attention to detail
