Backend Developer

Position Overview

The Backend developer, based out of our Singapore office, will play a crucial role in the development, deployment and implementation of smart contracts for Tron’s decentralized applications on the blockchain-based platforms such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, TRON, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, Osmosis and Solana. He/She will be part of the project team playing a crucial role in the creation of our company’s first-of-its-kind DeFi product.

The ideal candidate will be one that is passionate and possesses in-depth understanding of blockchain theories, frameworks and how smart contracts work. To succeed in this role, the candidate will ideally have experience in developing and implementing blockchain solutions with programming languages in Solidity/Rust along with knowledge of storage solutions such as IPFS and AWS. He/She should also be familiar with implementing and optimizing cryptographic protocols and security features.

Responsibilities

Development, Implementation and Optimizing (70%):

• Write, test, and deploy smart contracts on various blockchain platforms (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, Osmosis and Solana).
• Ensure the security, efficiency, and correctness of smart contracts.
• Develop APIs and other backend services that interact with blockchain networks.
• Integrate blockchain functionalities into existing applications or systems.
• Design and manage decentralized storage solutions or integrate blockchain data with traditional databases.
• Optimize backend performance to handle high transaction volumes and ensure fast and reliable operations.
• Set up, configure, and maintain blockchain nodes.
• Monitor node performance, handle upgrades, and ensure high availability.
• Implement solutions to improve the scalability and performance of blockchain applications.
• Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments of smart contracts and backend systems.
• Implement best practices to protect against attacks and ensure data integrity.
• Design and develop scalable backend architectures that can handle blockchain interactions.
• Create and maintain APIs and microservices to support frontend applications and user interfaces.
• Work closely with frontend developers, UI/UX designers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to team discussions, and collaborate on project planning and execution.
• Write and execute test cases for smart contracts and backend services.
• Debug and resolve issues related to blockchain transactions, smart contracts, and backend processes.
• Document code, smart contract functionalities, and system architectures.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for developers and end-users.

Research, Innovation and Compliance (30%):

• Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in blockchain development.
• Experiment with new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to improve the backend infrastructure.
• Ensure that blockchain implementations adhere to relevant regulations and standards.
• Implement features that support compliance, in the area relevant to the DeFi product.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a backend developer with a focus on blockchain technologies.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Solidity or Rust.
• In-depth understanding of blockchain protocols, smart contracts, and consensus algorithms. One should be able to articulate beyond the search engine definitions of these concepts.
• Solid knowledge in blockchain development frameworks such as Foundry and Hardhat.
• Good knowledge of storage solutions, IPFS and AWS.
• Experience in deploying and managing nodes on blockchain networks.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Able to articulate thoughts, suggestions, roadblocks in a respectful and constructive manner.
• Proactive, independent individual who takes ownership to improve their skill set.
• A team player who believes in knowledge sharing of best practices with the team.
• Plus points if proficient in Chinese.
