They are a privately invested, fast-growing start-up located on the stunning Sunshine Coast, and looking for a talented Principal / Lead Software Engineer to join their team.

In this key role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the direction of the software development road-map and features and work in an exciting domain with a passionate team on AI-powered solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute at a senior level to the design, development, and architecture of complex applications.
• Leverage generative AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic Systems, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Define and maintain best practices for software development, code quality, and deployment processes.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, continuously improving your knowledge and sharing insights with the team.
• Play a key role in shaping the technical roadmap and long-term vision for the company.

Experience required:

• Proven experience as a Software Engineer, passionate about AI
• Technical experience with some of the following or similar: Go, Python, Next.js, React, AWS, and PostgreSQL. They are more interested in your ability and curiousity as an engineer then tech-stack.
• Expertise in AWS for deploying and scaling applications in production environments.
• Solid understanding of cloud-based architectures and microservices.
• Experience working with modern software development tools and CI/CD pipelines.
• It will be highly beneficial if you have experience in development of applications leveraging Gen AI technologies (LLMs, Agentic Systems, RAG).
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable plans.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.
