System Engineer within Automotive

CabinAir aims to improve the health, safety, and wellbeing of drivers and passengers, by producing industry-leading in-cabin air purification solutions for cars, trucks, buses, and other vehicles.


We are looking for a System Engineer within Automotive to be part of our journey as we strengthen and expand our businesses.


What you'll do

As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for translating stakeholder requirements and expectations into system design and requirements. You will work with and maintain the system requirements securing structure and coherence between variants of products and customers. You will be a bridge between design and testing internally and the customers and suppliers externally.


Overall responsibilities:

  • Collaborative Leadership: Support, inform, and clarify the target product performance and characteristics to be validated, and guide engineers with your experience and best practice knowledge
  • Requirements Definition: Assess requirements feasibility and applicability through cross-functional analysis of product design and applicable standards
  • Requirements Control: Ensure traceability and control between requirements and validation in a structured way with support from our internal tools
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Lead the customer/supplier alignment on system performance, requirements and expectations


Who you are

As a person, you can get things done. We are looking for someone who focuses on customer needs and has a passion for maintaining high standards of quality. It is important that you have excellent collaborative skills and take the initiative to solve tasks. The position requires that you are thorough, structured, and can express yourself clearly in English, both orally and in writing.


Qualifications

  • Academic degree in engineering or a related field
  • 5- years of working experience in systems engineering, preferably within the automotive industry or other regulated industries with high standards, such as telecom
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • It is a plus to have an electronic hardware / software background
  • Prior experience with a requirements management tool is also a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail


You will report to Head of R&D, with daily interactions with the R&D team in Sweden and China as well as Operations and Sales & Marketing.

Our technology is already on the road in Volvo Cars, some of the world’s most highly regarded vehicles in terms of driver and passenger health and safety, as an integral part of Volvo Cars’ Advanced Air Cleaner (AAC) system. Recently Polestar announced AAC for Polestar 3 and we recently signed other contracts with premium vehicle manufacturers from Europe, U.S. and China. In parallel, we are launching our technology for cars already on the road.
