Data Protection Assistant

The European Public Prosecutor’s Office, the independent public prosecution office of the European Union, is seeking applications for the position of Data Protection Assistant.

As a member of the Data Protection Office, you will be an integral part of ensuring the EPPO’s sound processing of personal data by contributing to and facilitating the work of the Data Protection Officer. This includes the support as regards both administrative and operational personal data on a substantial level, as well as administrative tasks of the Office.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Under the supervision and reporting to the Data Protection Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Contributing to the management of the EPPO data protection compliance and other relevant documentation, incl. monitoring appropriate publication of same;
• Contributing to the management of the Data Protection Office by providing an overview of ongoing tasks, projects, recording of and alerting to approaching deadlines, preparing meeting documentation, etc;
• Drafting of reports and summaries of judgments, events, etc., related to data protection on own initiative or upon instruction;
• Drafting of correspondence, reports, communications, internal and external;
• Research, incl. from a comparative perspective, into specific areas of data protection legislation, and specifically Member States implementations, esp. in the field of implementation in the law enforcement environment;
• Project based tasks on specific themes related to data protection and the EPPO;
• Taking of minutes, preparation of meetings, organization of missions and logistical administration thereof;
• other tasks as required and in the interest of the service.
