Our client is a leading Construction Company in the Middle East region looking to hire a Contracts Manager and you will be responsible for managing and administering client contracts for marine construction projects, ensuring compliance with legal, financial, and industry-specific requirements. The role involves negotiating, drafting, and managing contracts related to marine infrastructure, port development, dredging, and other coastal engineering projects. The Contracts Manager will coordinate
with clients, contractors, legal teams, and project stakeholders to mitigate risks, manage claims, and ensure smooth contract execution throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Maritime Law, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 - 15 years of experience in contract management within the marine civil
construction industry.
Strong understanding of marine construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, SCC ) and relevant legal frameworks.
Proven experience in successfully handling claims for Extensions of Time (EOT) and marine project-specific claims (e.g., weather delays, environmental compliance).
Knowledge of marine construction methods, dredging, coastal engineering, port development, and related activities.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and contracts
simultaneously.
Preferred Skills
Experience in contract management for large-scale marine construction projects, such as port construction, offshore wind farms, or dredging operations.
Familiarity with maritime law and international regulations governing marine construction.
Certification in contract management or project management (e.g., RICS, IACCM, PMP).
Experience working with marine regulatory bodies for project permits and approvals.
Work Environment
This is a full-time role that may require travel to marine construction sites, client locations, and meetings with regulatory authorities. The Contracts Manager will work closely with project teams, contractors, and legal departments to ensure all contractual obligations are met.

Key Responsibilities
- Contract Drafting and Review:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to marine construction projects, including client agreements, subcontracts, change orders, and extensions of time (EOT).
- Ensure contracts comply with legal standards, project requirements, and industry
- Monitor and enforce contract compliance throughout the project.
- Client Contract Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on all contractual matters related to
- Ensure that clients and internal teams understand and adhere to contract terms,
- Manage and resolve any contractual disputes, variations, and claims that may arise
- Marine Construction Risk Management:
- Identify risks specific to marine construction (e.g., weather-related delays, regulatory
- Manage claims for delays, cost overruns, and EOT by providing proper documentation
- Ensure all marine construction-related risks, such as material sourcing, dredging
- Contract Negotiation:
- Lead negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring that contract
- Negotiate complex marine construction terms, such as maritime insurance, delivery of
- Provide contract interpretation and advice to project teams and senior management
- Marine Project Support:
- Assist the project management team with contract administration tasks, including
- Manage and process contract changes, variations, and EOT claims in a timely and
- Support the project team in coordinating with maritime regulatory authorities for
- Legal and Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that all contracts comply with applicable laws, such as maritime law,
- Collaborate with legal teams to address any disputes or claims related to contract
- Oversee implementation of health, safety, and environmental regulations impacting
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of all contract-related documentation, including agreements, permits, change orders, and claims.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on contract performance, potential risks, and key
- Track and manage contract renewals, extensions, and closeouts effectively.
- Stakeholder Coordination:
- Work closely with internal teams such as project management, procurement, finance,
- Coordinate with subcontractors, marine engineers, environmental specialists, and other third-party stakeholders to ensure contract terms are met.
