About the Role

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer for an exciting 5-6 month contract based in Sydney. In this hands-on role, you will collaborate with multiple product squads to drive impactful solutions, leveraging cutting-edge technologies. You will focus on platform provisioning, release engineering, business continuity, and operational automation. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work in an Agile environment while implementing and enhancing modern DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate across product squads to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Azure Cloud, including setting up resources, middleware configurations, and databases.
• Lead release engineering solutions, including release pipelines, application deployments, and release notes.
• Develop operational workflows for job scheduling, file transfers, and other automation tasks.
• Drive business continuity solutions like monitoring, backup, and recovery.
• Implement workforce computing solutions for provisioning resources, identity, and access management.
• Leverage scripting frameworks and tools (like PowerShell, DSC) to automate and configure processes.
• Advocate for DevSecOps practices and ensure alignment with engineering standards and best practices.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Minimum 2 years of experience with Azure cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep.
• Minimum 2 years in an Azure Cloud DevOps role, with expertise in PowerShell and Desired State Configuration (DSC).
• Proven experience with CI/CD processes and toolsets, particularly Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with system integrations, API management, and file transfer automation.
• Experience with Agile methodologies supporting CI/CD processes.
• Solid understanding of network and infrastructure management, including patching, middleware upgrades, and monitoring.
• Basic knowledge of security and vulnerability management practices.
• Insurance industry knowledge (preferably General Insurance) is a plus.
