Software Development Engineer Intern

Complete an internship project at SOPHiA GENETICS whose mission is to build the future of AI-assisted medicine. Joining the team as a Software Development Engineer Intern.

Your mission:

As an intern in CarePath team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our software development processes through automation and optimization. You will be deeply involved in automating integration tests and API tests, streamlining report and metrics generation, and contributing to the refinement of our release process. Together, we aim to empower our team to deliver high-quality software with agility and precision.

You will be involved in:

Web interface development

• Developing and enhancing front-end web applications using React.js and related technologies.
• Collaboration with designers and backend engineers to create seamless user experiences.
• Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Participating in team meetings, code reviews, and agile development cycles.
• Troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing applications for performance.
  
  

Report generation:

• Creating automated solutions for generating comprehensive reports on test results, code coverage, and other metrics.
• Developing scripts or tools to extract relevant data from testing frameworks and version control systems.
• Designing and implementing customizable report templates to meet the needs of various stakeholders.
• Enhancing report generation processes to improve efficiency and visibility into project status
  
  

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Knowledge of React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS
• Programming skills in languages such as Java or Python
• Familiarity with software testing methodologies and tools, including integration testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, TestNG), API testing tools (e.g., Postman)
• Proficiency in version control systems such as Git
• Prior experience with SDLC processes and automation tools is a plus
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment
• Good command of English
