Automation Engineer

CREGG is currently looking for an Automation Engineer/PLC programmer to join one of its clients based in East Cork permanently, this job will require the Engineer to work on projects from Pharma to F&B throughout Ireland

Responsibilities/ Duties

• Working with a team of automation engineers delivering projects to customer sites.
• Developing engineering design documents, technical evaluations, and test plans for cGMP process equipment and following GAMP 5 guidelines.
• Providing design and approval for hardware, software, and controls for automated systems.
• Working closely with customers to identify areas for improvement through the use of automation and data analytics technology.
• Providing technical and operational support for automation to the engineering, manufacturing, validation, and facilities departments.
• Coordinating and supporting project commissioning activities.
• Mentoring and training of junior engineers.
• Researching new technologies and trends in Industrial Automation and liaising with senior management on automation business strategy.

Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience

• Experienced automation engineer with 3 or more years experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Computer Science / Information Systems or related field.
• PLC Programming Experience: Allen-Bradley PLCs / Siemens TIA Portal.
• HMI / SCADA Experience: Siemens / Rockwell / AVEVA / Schneider.
• Knowledge of process instrumentation and wiring.
• Experience with control networks and communications systems (Profibus, Modbus, DeviceNet).
• Experience working with validated Automation systems in the Pharmaceutical or Food Beverage manufacturing environment
• A Valid work permit
• Own transport
