As all European IT security of financial entities such as banks, insurance companies and investment firms must fulfil requirements of the Digital Operation Resilience Act, aka DORA, making sure that the financial sector in Europe is able to stay resilient in the event of a severe operational disruption.

In that scope, we must ensure being ready to response to Cyber Attacks and more specifically, to Ransomware incident. The target of such offensive being the Bank Data, it is necessary to have a perfect Backup/Restore/Synchronisation, later called BRS, approach in place.

A team of engineers dedicated to this effort will process all critical applications to determine the adequacy of the BRS currently in place towards the continuity requirements, propose improvements when necessary, support the Dev/Ops team improving their application’s BRS, validate the implementation and ensure that required evidence are regularly available.

Your key responsibilities

[Technical skills]

• Proficient in cloud-based data protection solutions.
• Ability to design, implement, and manage data protection solutions for applications.
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for data protection, including regular backups, offsite storage, and security audits.
• Passion for safeguarding critical data and ensuring business continuity.
• Expertise in designing and implementing immutable backup strategies, ensuring that data backups are not susceptible to modification or deletion, even by authorized users.
• Understanding of ransomware prevention techniques and how immutable backups contribute to ransomware resilience.
• Ability to integrate immutable backups with disaster recovery plans to ensure that even in the event of a ransomware attack, critical data can be recovered.

Your mission

• Assess and optimize where required the backup and restore solutions for most critical applications.
• Conduct regular assessments of data protection solutions and processes to identify and mitigate risks, including ransomware attacks, hardware failures, and human error, and work with applications teams to design plans to mitigate these risks.
• Develop and implement data protection improvement process that align with business continuity objectives, regulatory requirements ensuring that data is protected from modification, or deletion, even in the event of ransomware attacks.
• Implement and maintain plans to ensure rapid recovery of data in the event of outages or incidents impacting data availability or consistency.
