3D Animator

We are Plastic Wax - an independent and award-winning animation studio specializing in pre-rendered and in-engine animation, visual effects, motion capture, compositing, and a turnkey variety of creative services. For nearly 30 years our talented crew have worked with some of the world's most beloved properties, including Mortal Kombat, Game of Thrones, Epic Mickey, Subnautica, and many more.

We have exciting new projects on the horizon, and are currently taking applications for Mid-Senior 3D Animators.

Responsibilities:

• Create high quality stylized animations with keyframe animation in Maya
• Show initiative, push ideas and innovate within your duties.
• Ability to work unassisted and relied upon to finish tasks
• Meet project task schedules, achieve seconds per week requirement for the project with the quality expected
• Update shots, receive feedback and respond on Shotgun
• Engage with the Lead Animator, Animation Director and Production

Requirements:

• Industry experience preferred
• Recent animation reel
• Must be fluent in Maya. Shotgun. Motionbuilder beneficial
• Strong understanding of traditional animation techniques and the principles of character performance such as posing, timing, acting and storytelling techniques
• Strong work ethic and have the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to solve problems under short deadlines
• Must be able to work within a team, independently, and take direction well
• A flexible approach while maintaining consistently high standards
• Proactive and have excellent communication skills
• Be able to communicate creative and technical thoughts
• Must have the right to work in Australia
