Job Title: Embedded Software/Electronics Engineer – Automotive Industry

Location: Near Ghent, Belgium

I am currently searching for am Embedded Software/Electronics Engineer for my client who are developing a revolutionary transmission technology that enhances both efficiency and performance in vehicles.

Their innovations are transforming trucks, agricultural machinery, and off-road vehicles. To further optimise their control software and hardware for production and Functional Safety, we're looking for a passionate Development Engineer – Electronics / Software to join the team.

Your Profile:

• Education: Master’s degree in Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Expertise: Experience with Matlab, Simulink, CAN, SAE J1939, Canape
• Knowledge of C/C++ is a plus.
• Embedded software optimisation, sensors, and controller hardware; experience with series production controllers is an asset.
• Functional Safety: Preferably familiar with FMEA, HARA, and vehicle applications.
• Security: Understanding of controller development and security standards.
• Interest: A solid grasp of vehicle mechanics.
• Language: Fluent in English; Dutch proficiency is a plus.
• Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience.

Your Role:

• Define the architecture of embedded software and translate Simulink algorithms into optimized code.
• Perform validation tests using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL).
• Integrate Functional Safety into application software.
• Translate control algorithm requirements into hardware specifications for transmission controllers.
• Collaborate with OS and BS developers to implement optimizations.
• Ensure cybersecurity compliance and manage software versions for different customers and applications.
• Select and define sensors and electrical actuators based on safety and electronic requirements.
