Thrifty is a leading brand in UAE’s car rental and leasing sector with the largest fleet size and over 50+ rental locations. The company has very ambitious growth plans and is looking to hire a dedicated SQL Database Support Specialist to help drive this growth.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess experience in .NET Web Development and strong knowledge of SQL Server database administration, along with expertise in developing and maintaining web applications using .NET technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

SQL Database Support:

• Maintain and support SQL Server databases, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.
• Monitor database performance and resolve any issues related to SQL queries, performance, and resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and data anomalies.
• Write, optimize, and debug complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
• Implement and enforce best practices for data security, including user access controls and encryption.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that the databases are integrated efficiently with the applications.

.NET Web Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, and Web API.
• Collaborate with frontend teams to ensure seamless integration with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.).
• Implement business logic, data access layers, and API integrations in web applications.
• Develop database-driven web applications using Entity Framework or other ORM tools.
• Perform code reviews and maintain high standards for code quality, performance, and security.
• Work with version control systems like Git to manage code and collaborate with the team.
• Ensure web applications are secure, scalable, and optimized for high performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

• Strong experience with SQL Server (including query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning).
• Familiarity with Azure or other cloud environments for hosting databases and applications.
• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts.
• Solid understanding of .NET Core and ASP.NET technologies.
• Experience with Entity Framework or other ORM frameworks for .NET.
• Familiarity with RESTful API development and integration.
• Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with database migrations and version control tools (e.g., Git).
• Understanding of web security practices, such as encryption and secure authentication.
• Additional Skills:
• Experience with SSRS, SSIS, or SSAS is a plus.
• Experience in handling high-traffic databases and applications.
• Basic knowledge of front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) is a bonus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• At least 4+ years of experience working with SQL Server and .NET web development.
• Familiarity with Docker or containerization technologies is a plus.
• Experience with DevOps or CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
• Experience in data migration and working with legacy systems.
