About the Company - For our esteemed client we are looking for an SENIOR OBSERVABILITY & DEVOPS ENGINEER
About the Role - Key Responsibilities:
- Observability & Monitoring:
- Design, implement, and maintain advanced monitoring solutions with an eye on costs.
- Develop dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide actionable insights for system performance, security, and compliance.
- Work with additional observability tools (Splunk, Icinga, Dynatrace, Selenium) to create a comprehensive monitoring ecosystem.
- Automation & DevOps Integration:
- Leverage GitOps and DevOps best practices to automate deployment, configuration, monitoring and systems management tasks.
- Integrate observability solutions into CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless monitoring and rapid feedback loops.
- Collaborate closely with platforms, development, security, and operations teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- API Integration & Scripting:
- Develop and maintain scripts to automate tasks, integrate various systems, and enhance observability capabilities.
- Work on API integrations with CMDB, ITSM and observability tools, ensuring reliable data flows and consistency across platforms.
- Security & Compliance:
- Collaborate on security projects involving HashiCorp Vault, One Identity Safeguard, Qualys and Splunk ES, ensuring monitoring solutions adhere to the bank's stringent security standards.
- Assist in the development of strategies to monitor and audit systems in a secure and compliant manner.
- Collaboration & Documentation:
- Act as a subject matter expert for observability and monitoring, providing guidance and support across teams.
- Document system configurations, integrations, and procedures to ensure clarity and continuity.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute to the strategic planning of IT operations.
Qualifications - Required Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Proven experience in managing and optimizing observability platforms, with a strong emphasis on Splunk in production environments.
- Solid background in DevOps/GitOps methodologies, including CI/CD pipeline integration.
- Hands-on experience with API integrations and automation scripting
- Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of log management, monitoring, and alerting frameworks.
- Experience with complementary observability tools such as Icinga, Dynatrace, and Selenium.
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) and systems patching solutions.
- Basic system administration on Red Hat, Debian, and Windows
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, objective-oriented attitude.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills - Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in financial services or regulated industries.
- Observability background.
- Knowledge of configuration management databases (CMDB) and continuous integration discovery tools.
- Familiarity with security tools like HashiCorp Vault and One Identity Safeguard.
