Cloud Engineer

Cloud Engineer is responsible as an Architect in developing the architectural design based on cloud service provider (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform) architectural principles and best practices; leveraging on cloud service provider services to ensure infrastructure scalability, reliability and resiliency. Incumbent will lead in developing the Migration Practice, elevating the technical execution and delivery with different cloud migration approaches.

Incumbent will also coordinate with different internal teams and external vendors/partners to ensure successful cloud migration, provide expert views, inputs and recommendations for customer decision based on technical judgment and drive processes and execution goals. The role will be responsible to develop and execute strategies for various phases of large scale migrations for customers who are rapidly moving a large number of applications onto cloud platform.

• Responsible to evaluate cloud application requirements and make architectural recommendations for implementation, deployment and provisioning of applications on cloud platform (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, VMware NSX, Redhat OpenStack)
• Provide best practices’ guidance on the architectural design across multiple applications
• Identify and define technical requirements for a cloud-based application
• Design available, cost-efficient, fault-tolerant and scalable distributed systems on cloud platform
• Utilize and deploy network, storage and database services in cloud environment
• Recommend best practices for building secure and reliable applications on the cloud platform
• Conduct deep dive discussions on cloud service provider architectural principles, cloud global infrastructure, network technologies related to cloud platform, Security features and tools that cloud service provider provide and relate to traditional services
• Involve in cloud migration in re-hosting, re-platform, re-factor, re-architecting applications to cloud platform, database migration, Applications Optimization to scalable cloud design patterns
• Any other ad-hoc duties as required or assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Information Technology
• At least 2 AWS Associate Certifications or AWS Architect Professional Certifications
• Relevant AWS & Azure Cloud experience in the following areas:
• AWS Cloud Strategy including application assessment, migration strategy and planning, Cloud Operating Model and design.
• AWS Cloud Security Architecture and Compliance, Third-party security tools and platforms, KMS and CloudHSM, Inspector, Macie, IAM policies and roles, Shield, WAF
• AWS Migration in re-hosting, re-platform, re-factor, re-architecting applications to AWS Cloud, database migration, Applications Optimization to scalable cloud designs
• At least 3 years of experience with Amazon Web Services
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in designing and deploying cloud architecture on AWS.
• Ability to evaluate cloud application requirements and make architectural recommendations for implementation, deployment and provisioning applications on AWS.
• Capability to provide best practice guidance on the architectural design across multiple applications.
• Hands-on AWS experience with minimum 2 implementations and/or 2 migrations in enterprise scale environments.
• Hands-on experience in designing available, cost-efficient, fault-tolerant and scalable distributed systems on AWS.
• Hands-on experience utilizing and deploying compute network, storage and database services in AWS environments.
• Ability to identify and define technical requirements for an AWS-based application.
• Knowledge of recommended best practices for building secure and reliable applications on the AWS platform
• Ability to conduct deep dive discussion on AWS architectural principles, AWS global infrastructure, network technologies related to AWS, Security features and tools that AWS provides and how they relate to traditional services.
