For our client we are looking for a Cyber Security System Engineer.
The Cyber Security SW System Engineer is responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of automotive embedded software systems. This role focuses on developing and implementing cybersecurity strategies, ensuring compliance with automotive security standards, and mitigating potential risks in software and communication networks. The engineer collaborates with software, hardware, and system teams to integrate security solutions into the development lifecycle. This work is critical in protecting automotive systems against cyber threats, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and enhancing the resilience of electric drive unit (EDU) systems.
Responsibility:
- Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies for automotive-embedded software.
- Conduct threat analysis and risk assessment (TARA) to identify vulnerabilities.
- Ensure compliance with automotive cybersecurity standards (e.g., ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE WP.29).
- Define and implement secure boot, secure communication, and intrusion detection mechanisms.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and system engineers to integrate cybersecurity solutions.
- Develop and validate security requirements for embedded control units.
- Support penetration testing and vulnerability analysis of software components.
- Provide guidance on cryptographic techniques, authentication, and secure key management.
- Define cybersecurity test cases and validate security controls in embedded systems.
- Participate in technical reviews and security audits to ensure compliance and robustness.
Required skills:
- Automotive Cybersecurity Standards – In-depth knowledge of ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE WP.29, and related regulations.
- Threat Analysis & Risk Assessment (TARA) – Experience in identifying vulnerabilities and defining mitigation strategies.
- Cryptography & Secure Communication – Proficiency in encryption, secure boot, secure authentication, and key management.
- Embedded Software Security – Understanding of secure coding practices in C, C++, or Python for automotive applications.
- Penetration Testing & Vulnerability Analysis – Hands-on experience with security testing tools (e.g., Wireshark, Kali Linux, CANoe Security).
- Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) – Knowledge of integrating security measures into software development.
- Automotive Communication Protocols – Understanding of CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and their security aspects.
- Intrusion Detection & Prevention – Experience in implementing and testing intrusion detection systems for automotive applications.
- Functional Safety & Cybersecurity Intersection – Familiarity with ISO 26262 and its relationship with cybersecurity.
