Network Support Specialist

Insight Global is partnering with a local Jacksonville provider of IT consulting to hire for a Network Support Engineer. This is a fulltime role.

We are currently seeking a skilled Support Engineer with a strong focus on networking to join our client's dynamic team. We are currently open to candidates with strong technical L2 or L3 support experience.

The Support Engineer will be responsible for providing advanced technical support and troubleshooting for our network infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, as well as the ability to resolve complex issues efficiently. The ideal candidate will have certifications in CompTIA Network+ and Security+, along with hands-on experience in network support.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required
• 3+ years of experience with L2 desktop support
• Experience with Datto, Autotask RRM, Barracuda networks, or SonicWall \
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF).
• Experience with network hardware (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) and software.
• Valid US Driver's License

Preferred Skills:

• Additional certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
• Experience with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of network security best practices and tools.

Responsibilities:

• Provide L2/L3 support for network-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving complex problems.
• Monitor and maintain network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to implement and support network solutions.
• Perform network configuration, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Conduct root cause analysis for network incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Document network configurations, changes, and procedures.
• Assist in the development and implementation of network security measures.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior support staff.
