About the Role

As one of the founding members of the AI team, you’ll play a pivotal role in defining and driving the scientific and research direction of cutting-edge AI systems. This is an end-to-end engineering position where you’ll design, develop, and deliver innovative solutions across multiple domains, including:

• Retrieval and knowledge-base systems
• Reasoning models
• Models that interpret live information on-screen or from other applications

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to tackle complex challenges, ensuring that your contributions not only advance state-of-the-art technologies but also translate into real-world user-facing applications.

What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• 3+ years of experience working on similar AI/ML projects, either in academia or industry.
• A proven track record of solving complex problems using both scientific rigor (forming and testing hypotheses) and robust engineering practices (building scalable systems).
• Hands-on experience with NLP, LLMs, or other AI/ML technologies .
• Strong programming skills, particularly in Python .
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure providers and database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
• The ability to self-organize, prioritize tasks, and work independently in a fast-moving startup environment.
• Willingness to be based in London (visa sponsorship is available).

Nice-to-Haves

While not mandatory, these qualities would make you stand out:

• An exceptional academic background in computer science, machine learning, statistics, physics, mathematics, or a related field.
• Deep expertise in advanced ML concepts, algorithms, or frameworks.
• Some experience with Rust or C++ .
