About the Program:

  • Purpose: Our program aims to bridge the gap between education and professional life. As a summer student, you’ll gain hands-on experience, learn from industry experts, and contribute to real-world projects.
  • Eligibility Criteria:
    • Underrepresented Group: We encourage candidates who have identified themselves as part of an underrepresented or marginalized group to apply.
    • Age Requirement: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
    • Enrollment: You are currently enrolled as a full-time student at a post-secondary institution (college or university).
    • Proof of Enrollment: You will need to provide proof of enrollment that you are a full-time post-secondary student.
    • Availability: You must be available Monday through Friday during business hours from May to August.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monitoring and analyzing security alerts and incidents.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Assist with conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
  • Help in the development and execution of security awareness training programs.
  • Participate in the investigation and resolution of security breaches.
  • Assist in the preparation of security reports and documentation.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.
  • Documentation of standard operating procedures (SOP) and processes


Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of information security principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Highway 407 ETR is an all-electronic open-access toll highway located in the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario, Canada. The highway spans 108 kilometres from Burlington in the west to Pickering in the east.
