Senior Network Engineer

Hawksman Technology is working with a leading proprietary trading firm with a focus on close collaboration, rigorous research, and cutting-edge technology.

Role: Network Engineer

We are looking for a talented individual who can bridge the gap between traditional and cloud networking. You will ideally have experience managing network infrastructure in colocation and can navigate the transition from physical to virtual with ease.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and optimize network performance to ensure efficiency and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues to minimize downtime.
• Architect and plan future network solutions for improved connectivity.
• Onboard external clients to the platform and optimize the onboarding process.
• Manage network infrastructure using IaC and configuration management tools.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for connectivity services.

Requirements:

• 5+ years as a Network Engineer in financial services, ideally with colocation experience.
• Proficient in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and network management (LACP, IGMP).
• Strong understanding of low-latency networks, and experience configuring and troubleshooting network devices and firewalls.
• Experience with cloud platforms like GCP or AWS.
• Knowledge of network monitoring tools, packet capture, timing protocols, and latency optimization.
• Familiarity with market data feeds, exchange connectivity, and trading platforms (e.g., FIX protocol) is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Advanced skills in configuring routers, firewalls, and switches.
• Proven experience in live trading network infrastructure.
