Government organisation seeking Network Systems Engineer to be based in Ipswich

Your new company

A leading and crucial state government organisation that underpins the lives of millions across South-East Queensland are seeking Network Systems Engineer to be based in Ipswich. Conducting field based work, you will travel to sites across the region to support the Cisco based network powering the organisation.


Your new role

Established many years ago to service the needs of millions throughout South-East Queensland, whilst headquartered in Brisbane, this organisation has offices and sites throughout the region.

Working within the large ICT Operations Team and reporting into the infrastructure Director, your new role will see you work within a highly specialised and multi-disciplinary team of Network Engineers. With a focus on deploying, maintaining and upgrading all Cisco networking technologies in use, this team are crucial to the running of this organisation.

Based out of their office in Ipswich, this role will see you travel throughout the region to provide technical support for networks, servers, security and communication equipment at various sites. Alongside the BAU aspects of this role, you will also be involved with various project focused work (as and when required).

You will also be conducting non-hands-on work such as creating technical documentation, identifying optimisation opportunities and liaising with stakeholders across the organisation amongst other higher-level duties.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need experience/knowledge across (in no particular order) the following:
  • Network administration, troubleshooting and configuration
  • Windows server administration, troubleshooting and configuration (including Active Directory)
  • ESXi Hypervisor, troubleshooting and configuration
  • Data and voice communications
  • Data cabling and standards
  • Network monitoring tools (SolarWinds)
  • Cisco hardware and technologies
  • CCNA advantageous
  • Unrestricted driving license
  • Work with individuals across all levels of an organisation
  • Clear and perfect communication skills (both spoken and written)
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Currently residing in Australia (those outside will not be considered)


What you'll get in return

You will be offered a Contract up until September 2026 paying $99 + Super per hour for a leading and crucial state government organisation to be based in Ipswich.
