Network & Telephony Engineer (Virtual PBX)

📍 Location: Melbourne– Travel Required

Contract Length: 3 Months (Potential for Extension)

🚀 Start Date: Immediate

We are seeking an experienced Telephony Engineer with expertise in Virtual PBX, Cisco, and Palo Alto technologies to support a large-scale deployment project. This role involves traveling to multiple sites, configuring and managing VoIP, SIP trunking, and network security across locations while troubleshooting complex networking issues.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents related to CiscoDNA/SDA solutions.
  • Work remotely with Cisco customers and tackle highly sophisticated technical issues.
  • Configure, deploy, and manage Virtual PBX systems for multiple sites.
  • Implement and support Cisco telephony solutions and Palo Alto firewall configurations.
  • Recreate customer technical problems within Cisco’s internal labs to identify solutions.
  • Improve product quality by identifying and submitting software defects.
  • Work closely with IT teams to integrate telephony solutions with Cisco networking infrastructure.
  • Ensure optimal call routing, QoS, and firewall policies for secure and reliable communications.
  • Travel between sites as required—a valid driver's license is essential.
  • Provide documentation and handover support at the end of the contract.


Skills & Experience Required:

  • Solid understanding of modern enterprise networks.
  • Strong ability to isolate issues to specific network/software components and propose fixes.
  • Experience with routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP).
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
  • Proven experience with Virtual PBX, VoIP, SIP protocols, and cloud-based telephony.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco telephony solutions, VoIP gateways, and networking.
  • Experience configuring and managing Palo Alto firewalls, security policies, and VPNs.
  • Hands-on expertise in networking, firewalls, and QoS for voice traffic.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a diverse team environment.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various locations.
