Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer / Developer (Mobile - Cordova, Kotlin, Android)

Location: Utrecht (Hybrid – Onsite once a week)

Contract Type: No ZZP (Payroll)

Screening Period: Approx. 8 weeks

Job Overview:

We are looking for a Medior Android DevOps Engineer to join one of our DevOps teams within a public sector environment. This role involves contributing to a new project focused on delivering and implementing mobile solutions following the completion of the research and development phase.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Android development, DevOps practices, and experience with Cordova, Kotlin, and REST APIs. This is a great opportunity to work in a hybrid setup (onsite in Utrecht once a week) with a possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Android mobile applications using Kotlin and Java.
• Work with Cordova (PhoneGap) on Android (training provided if needed).
• Collaborate within an Agile/DevOps environment to ensure seamless development, deployment, and operations.
• Implement REST APIs for mobile applications, including NFC, Barcode scanning, contact chips, and MRZ.
• Utilize CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) for automated builds and deployments.
• Work with Git/Bitbucket for version control and collaboration.
• Ensure mobile security best practices are followed throughout development.
• Utilize HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript for mobile development when necessary.
• Maintain and improve automated testing strategies.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Dutch Native Speaker (Mandatory).
• Experience in Agile/DevOps environments.
• Strong Android (Native) development skills.
• Proficiency in Kotlin mobile development.
• Hands-on experience with Java for mobile development.
• Familiarity with Cordova (PhoneGap) on Android (must be willing to undergo training if needed).
• Knowledge of TypeScript and Angular (1.4/2.0).
• Experience in mobile development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Understanding of mobile security best practices.
• Ability to work with REST APIs (e.g., NFC, Barcode, contact chips, MRZ).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
• Proficiency in Git/Bitbucket for source control.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

• Experience in iOS development using Swift.
