Our existing infrastructure relies on commodity server hardware running open-source Linux-based systems and in-house automation developed and maintained by our own developers.

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join a team of infrastructure wizards in a growing and innovative cloud company. Your position would focus on the following:

• Become an expert in our production virtualization and storage infrastructure (hardware and software)
• Handle daily operational tasks (change management, incident management) together with the rest of the operations team and our partners keeping our infrastructure running 24/7
• Occasional travel to Data Centres to do routine hardware installation and maintenance tasks (up to 25% of the time)
• Help our customer support and the rest of the company by handling more technical questions

Our view is that to be successful in this role...

It helps if you have experience working with automation, provisioning, and using system-level solutions based on open-source components running on Linux OS. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have some exposure to the wide array of cloud technologies and public cloud providers. In essence, we expect you to have experience and/or interest in several of the following domains:

• Linux server administration (Bare-metal and virtualized)
• Basic understanding of container systems (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to comprehend complex environments
• Database knowledge (MySQL/Postgresql), experience of managing HA systems preferred
• Good understanding and hands-on experience of basics of the Internet and relevant server-side applications (DNS, HTTP etc.)
• Network technologies (TCP/IP, LB's etc.) and storage systems (ZFS, iSCSI)
• Basic knowledge of server/networking hardware, Data Centers, and their monitoring
• Security oriented mindset
• Documentation skills
