We're VOID Interactive, the passionate team of developers behind the hit FPS title, Ready or Not. We pride ourselves on bringing together diverse talent to crate compelling gaming experiences. Currently, we're expanding our roster and seeking a highly skilled Senior Gameplay Programmer to join our team remotely. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the core gameplay systems and mechanics that will define immersive player experiences in our projects.

 

As one of our Senior Gameplay Programmers, your mission is to shape the overall user experience and interaction scenarios. You'll play a key role in designing the players journey across our games, crafting user interfaces for effortless navigation. Working closely with programmers, testers, and producers, you'll ensure a seamless release by collaborating on every aspect of development. Your expertise in gameplay mechanics, user interface design, and team coordination will be pivotal in delivering exceptional gaming experiences. 

 

In this role you'll be in charge of:

  • Conceiving and designing the gameplay and core mechanics based on the approved concept.
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams to design and implement those core mechanics.
  • Ensuring gameplay features align with project goals, audience preference, and technical capabilities.
  • Iterating on gameplay elements based on player feedback, analytics and market trends to optimise user engagement and retention 
  • Participate in continuous review of game production. 
  • Mentoring junior developers and providing guidance on best practices in gameplay design and development.
  • Participating in the testing and debugging process to identify and address issues that may affect the overall player experience.


Here's what you'll bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
  • 5+ years experience in Gameplay Development or possess the relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in game development, with proficiency in Unreal Engine 5.
  • Strong understanding of gameplay design principles and gameplay mechanics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working in cross functional teams
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality gameplay experiences
  • Ability to leverage UE5's capabilities to innovate and optimise gameplay performances.
