Fullstack Developer

Role – Fullstack Developer (Digital Experience Tribe)

Location: Cologne, Germany (Hybrid – 2 days onsite preferred)

Employment Type: Contract (Now to 31/12/2025)

We are looking for an experienced Fullstack Developer to join our Digital Experience Tribe. The ideal candidate has a strong Java development background (5+ years), expertise in Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, DevOps practices, and test-driven development. This role requires collaboration in an Agile/Scrum environment, focusing on building scalable and secure applications.

The position is hybrid, requiring 2 days onsite per week in Cologne, with the flexibility of working remotely. Candidates with German language proficiency (C2) and insurance industry experience will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance Java-based applications in an Agile/Scrum setup.
• Work with Spring, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs to build scalable applications.
• Implement test-driven development (JUnit, mocking frameworks) for high-quality code.
• Ensure application security using OWASP, SonarQube, FindBugs, etc.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Tekton).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in pair programming.
• Work with DevOps tools and methodologies to enhance deployment efficiency.
• Provide knowledge transfer and best practice guidance within the team.

Required Skills & Experience:

Technical Expertise:

• 5+ years of experience in Java development.
• Strong knowledge of Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs.
• Experience in test-driven development (JUnit, Mockito, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Tekton.
• Knowledge of security best practices (OWASP, SonarQube, Findbugs, Contrast, etc.).
• Experience in DevOps environments.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):

• German proficiency (C2 level).
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
• Knowledge of Jira, Confluence.
• Familiarity with process modeling (Camunda, BPM), OOA/OOD, UML.
• Prior experience in the insurance industry.
