Firmware Engineer

We are seeking a Firmware Engineer to join our client's team in Helsinki, Finland, developing high-performance firmware for wireless access points and networking solutions. In this role, you will work on low-level software development, real-time processing, and wireless communication protocols, ensuring seamless and secure connectivity for enterprise and industrial applications. You will collaborate with hardware, networking, and security teams to create next-generation wireless access solutions with high reliability, low latency, and advanced security features.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong proficiency in C/C++ for real-time embedded systems.
• Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr) and embedded Linux kernel development.
• Deep understanding of Wi-Fi protocols (802.11ax, 802.11ac, WPA3, MIMO, OFDMA).
• Hands-on experience with wireless SoCs, DSPs, and microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-A, Cortex-M, RISC-V, Qualcomm, Broadcom, MediaTek).
• Strong knowledge of network security protocols (TLS, IPsec, WPA3, 802.1X, RADIUS).
• Experience with high-speed networking interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C).
• Understanding of wireless performance optimization, spectrum analysis, and RF tuning.
• Familiarity with network diagnostics, debugging tools, and protocol analyzers (Wireshark, Aircrack-ng, JTAG, OpenWRT, OpenWPA).

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI/ML for wireless network optimization.
• Background in mesh networking and distributed access point architectures.
• Knowledge of cloud-based network management and SDN (Software-Defined Networking).
• Familiarity with 5G, CBRS, or private LTE solutions.
