Systems Software Engineer UX – Sensors & Engineering Tools/C++/Python/MATLAB

We are currently partnered with a global technology organisation developing next-generation sensor technologies for smartphones, XR/AR devices, automotive platforms, IoT products, and wearable consumer electronics. As part of their growing engineering team, they are looking to hire a Systems Software Engineer to develop software frameworks, engineering tools, and user interfaces supporting sensor research, algorithm development, and system validation.

**This role is full time onsite in Cork**

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop engineering software tools and user interfaces supporting sensor research, development, and validation activities.
• Architect scalable software frameworks using modern software design patterns, including Model-View-Controller (MVC), event-driven programming, and component-based architectures.
• Develop software using C++, Python, and MATLAB across multiple platforms.
• Design intuitive data visualisation tools, dashboards, and analysis interfaces for engineering teams.
• Integrate frontend applications with backend data processing services and manage inter-language communication between software components.
• Balance performance, memory usage, power consumption, and computational complexity across software solutions.

Key Requirements

• At least 3 years of commercial experience developing UX/UI software using C++, Python, and/or MATLAB.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software with SoC architecture principles.
• Experience designing software frameworks, engineering tools, or desktop applications.
• Knowledge of software design patterns including MVC, event-driven programming, or component-based architectures.
• Experience developing data visualisation tools or engineering dashboards.
• Understanding of frontend/backend integration and software interface design.
