Network Support Engineer
About the Role
We’re excited to offer the opportunity for a Network Support Engineer to join one of our key clients. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of technologies, including networking, telephony, and AV systems within a managed office environment in central Dublin.
As part of a collaborative team, you’ll support core technology infrastructure for a diverse client base across multiple buildings in Dublin’s city centre. Your role will involve network management and direct engagement with clients to resolve setup, connectivity and IT support challenges efficiently.
This position is perfect for an experienced IT practitioner who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service. It blends technical expertise with communication skills, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on troubleshooting and helping people.
You’ll be the on-site face of Spector’s IT team, working closely with tenants, vendors, and internal teams to ensure a secure and seamless IT experience.
Key Responsibilities
Network Infrastructure Maintenance & Installation
- Manage and maintain communications cabinets across multiple buildings, ensuring optimal network performance and security.
- Assist the professional services team in configuring, maintaining, and documenting network hardware, including switches, access points, and firewalls.
- Perform routine network checks, ensuring alignment with best practices.
- Oversee the setup and installation of meeting room and access control technology.
Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution
- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, such as port problems, Wi-Fi interference, and VLAN misconfigurations.
- Monitor network performance and escalate critical issues as needed.
Change Requests & Network Upgrades
- Implement network changes based on business and tenant requirements, including VLAN adjustments, port configurations, and hardware upgrades.
- Assist with firmware updates, security patches, and network optimization.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network changes.
- Keep ticketing systems up to date and provide weekly reports and timesheets.
Customer-Facing IT Support & Coordination
- Act as the on-site IT presence, ensuring top-tier customer service and clear communication with tenants and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to maintain high service standards.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of network configurations, port maps, and IP assignments.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, industry regulations, and best practices.
Key Requirements
Technical Skills
- Solid understanding and experience of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs).
- Hands-on experience with network hardware such as switches, firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Aruba), and access points.
- Ability to efficiently diagnose and resolve connectivity and performance issues.
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to engage with non-technical users.
- Ability to manage workload across multiple locations and prioritize effectively.
- Strong time management and logging skills.
- Fluent English Speaker
Certifications & Experience
- Preferred: CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent Level 2 network support experience.
- Experience in a managed IT services (MSP) environment is a plus.

€40k-€50k p.a. DoE.
