Head of Engineering

EUROAPOTHECA is an international group of Northern European companies that operate retail pharmacy chains and pharmaceutical wholesale companies as well as online pharmacies in Lithuania, Sweden, Latvia, and Estonia. EUROAPOTHECA group comprises 784 pharmacies and 121 franchised pharmacies in four countries and more than 7100 employees.

We are looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for leading a team that develops and supports our business application solutions. The ideal candidate will have background in the following languages: C#, C/AL, AL, PHP or SQL. In this role you will report to CTO.

In this position you will:

• Lead teams of 20+ software engineers in total, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
• Oversee the design and architecture of business applications to ensure scalability, performance, and security
• Ensure the development of high-quality code and adherence to coding standards and best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems’ efficiency and reliability to meet business needs and enhance stakeholders’ experience
• Drive development of solutions for POS systems and Pharmacy back-end operations
• Drive warehouse applications support to optimize logistics and inventory management
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation
• Contribute to development and execution of IT projects
• Identify emerging technologies and trends to enhance the company's competitive edge
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the software build, test, and deployment processes
• Conduct regular reviews and audits of development processes and outputs

We are looking for a colleague who has:

• Proven experience leading software development teams
• Knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodology
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Strong business processes and needs understanding.
• Advanced English and Lithuanian skills, both written and verbal

It would be an advantage if you have:

• Knowledge of C/AL, .NET, PHP, SQL and BI technologies
• Experience in ERP development (ideally Business Central/ NAV)
