Lead Java Developer - Solution Architect

Location: Utrecht (Hybrid, 1 day per week onsite),

Are you an experienced Java lead developer and looking to take the next step to also lead on architecture and grow into a Solution Architect role? Then this is the perfect opportunity for you. We have several High Performance teams working for this client. One of these teams now has an opening for a lead/solution architect. You will contribute actively while also setting the technical direction for the team and guiding them in properly implementing the architecture. Additionally, you will become part of the team of solution architects within the Company.

Your Role as Solution Architect

As a Solution Architect, you work within project teams or on account-related assignments. You are responsible for end-to-end solution designs, solution technologies, and applications across multiple internal and external IT systems. You will also work in various application and cloud architecture domains.

As a Solution Architect, you analyze, document, and communicate the entire application architecture of a specific domain. You ensure technical quality by participating in architecture governance and technical design processes, in close collaboration with the client and other key stakeholders. You also have the ability to build (long-term) relationships with all involved and to work effectively in an Agile environment.

Where will you be working?

As a Solution Architect, you will be part of architecture team, collaborating with many technical and innovative colleagues. This dynamic position offers ample room for growth and development. Our company has a large architecture team of approximately 400 architects, in which you will actively participate and contribute to knowledge sharing and close cooperation with solution managers, solution architects, and other architects within the Company and with our clients.

What do you bring to the table?

➢ You have a completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

➢ You have relevant and up-to-date knowledge of Cloud Technology, Containerization, and (open source) Software Development.

➢ You are capable of advising clients on solutions, technology, package selection, solutions, and implementation strategies.

➢ Proven experience in the CNCF API management landscape and a background in solution technologies such as Spring Boot/Quarkus, Kafka, CI/CD, Open Source, and establishing standards.

➢ Demonstrable experience working within Agile teams.

➢ Preferably, experience in working on and presenting client proposals.

➢ Skills such as analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, proactivity, and leadership.

➢ Fluency in both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
