We are seeking an experienced Video Ops Consultant to join our team of experts to optimise and support our live and VOD streaming infrastructure. The role requires to work hours adjusted to the US East Coast time zone and willingness to occasionally provide support during evening hours for major events or game releases.

What you will be doing:

• Ensure high availability and superior quality of video streams.
• Troubleshoot complex streaming issues to maintain seamless performance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance video delivery efficiency.
• Utilize expertise in video encoding, content distribution, and cloud-based streaming solutions.

You are a good match if you have:

• 4+ years of experience in video streaming operations, OTT or media workflows.
• Deep knowledge of encoding/transcoding, content packaging, and CDN optimizations.
• Strong understanding of HLS, DASH, RTMP, and latency optimization techniques.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot video quality issues across devices and platforms.
• Familiarity with log analysis and monitoring tools (Conviva, Datadog, New Relic).
• Experience integrating DRM solutions (Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay) and adaptive bitrate streaming.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to diagnosing and resolving streaming issues.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with engineering, DevOps, and product teams.

You get extra points for:

• Experience with Harmonic, FFmpeg, or AWS Elemental.
• Knowledge of edge caching strategies and advanced CDN configurations (Akamai, Fastly).
• Hands-on experience with AWS Media Services, CloudFront, and multi-region deployments.
• Understanding of Server-Side Ad Insertion (SSAI) and monetization workflows.
• Experience with auto-scaling strategies for live and VOD workloads.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Background in real-time video analytics and QoE optimization techniques.
• Exposure to multi-platform video player debugging (e.g., ExoPlayer, AVPlayer, Shaka Player).
