AWS DevOps Specialist

• Successful candidates will have deep and rich knowledge of AWS native DevOps tooling such as CloudFormation (CFN) in either YAML (Preference) or JSON.
• The ability to debug CloudFormation runtime errors, the ability to create dynamic templating using parameters and intrinsic operators such a !Ref and !Sub so that templates can be reused over multiple AWS accounts/environments. Also an understanding of how CloudFormation Nested templates work.
• A good understanding of GIT and how to manage repositories using Trunk Based Development as the standard. Github Actions is also highly desirable as
• CBA is moving away from TeamCity and Octpus for its CI/CD. Knowledge of TeamCity and Octopus would be adventagous.
• Of course, BaSH is a requirement, the candidate SHOULD have excellent BaSH knowledge for shell scripting, Python is a bonus!
• Deep knowledge of AWS VPC, Security Groups, NACLs relating to networking and security, along with other AWS secuirty services such as CloudTrail, AWS Config,
• Security Hub. Essential AWS services for providing best practice security in the cloud.

Notable attributes would be the ability to:

• Manage Organisation Complexity through AWS Organisation (Cross Account knowledge along with IAM) Be cost conscious, ensuring right size and the correct balance between performance and cost Whilst not a major, knowledge of AWS Lambda. An ideal candidate would be able to create Lambda's which perform management functions across the AWS environment.
• Rounding out, the candidate should be self motivated, have a keen eye for quality and seeks to understand new AWS services as the landscape evolves. Keeping their knowledge up to date is key here.
