For our customer based in Malta - a European Institution, we are looking for a Business Analyst to join our team in the area of international protection - supporting Member States in applying the package of EU laws that governs asylum, international protection, and reception conditions. You will play a crucial role in providing practical, legal, technical, advisory, and operational assistance to achieve harmonized asylum practices. In this role, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders, analyze business processes, and translate requirements into actionable insights.

The job can be performed 100% remotely from any European Union country or a combination of onsite presence in Malta and remote working from another EU member country.

More specifically, you will be responsible for:

• Organizing and leading workshops with stakeholders to gather, validate, and prioritize business requirements. Ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
• Defining, documenting, and communicating clear, detailed business and functional requirements based on client’s standard templates.
• Analyzing existing business processes, identifying inefficiencies, and pinpointing areas for improvement.
• Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from various sources to support informed decision-making and recommend actionable strategies for process optimization.
• Diagnosing issues in existing systems to identify errors/deficiencies and drafting requirements to resolve them.
• Creating, maintaining, and regularly updating relevant documentation/requirements.
• Providing high-level (Level 2) support to end users, addressing tickets from the client’s Service Desk that require more in-depth functional analysis and diagnosis.
• Creating detailed business process models following the client's approved modeling notation/design modeling software.
• Drafting use cases and assisting/executing user acceptance testing to ensure that the system developed meets the business requirements and is according to the specifications agreed upon.
• Creating low-fidelity wireframes using the client's wireframing design tool.
• Collaborating with UX/UI designers to develop wireframes and prototypes that align with business requirements. Ensuring the user interface and user experience are optimized for end-users, facilitating effective communication between technical teams and stakeholders.
• Reviewing all software quality assurance (QA) activities with the QA Tester or project stakeholders to ensure the product meets the requirements and business needs.
• Recommending and developing strategies to streamline workflows and improve overall business performance.
• Acting as the main point of contact between business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Ensuring that business requirements are appropriately captured in the client's IT systems such as JIRA and prioritized for Agile development cycles.
• Supporting the preparation and delivery of training sessions (for end users and for newcomers in the team).
  
  

Job requirements

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree.
• 10 years of experience in business analysis.
• Experience in information systems consulting and studies.
• Experience in designing mockups of user interfaces for web applications.
• Experience within large organizations' administrative and business processes.
• Experience in writing detailed reports.
• Experience in an international/multicultural environment.
• Experience in handling Agile/Scrum methodologies, and BPM/BPMN.
