Role : Senior Python Developer

Location : Zuid, Amsterdam

Contract/Freelancer Only

35 Hours per week

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python development, particularly in building and maintaining REST APIs. This role involves working on various components of our solution, including data ingestion, APIs, and streaming services. The developer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain REST APIs for both relational and non-relational databases.

2. Create and manage Python packages and modules for application functionality.

3. Handle various data formats such as Parquet and Delta to optimize data processing.

4. Expertise in Software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of APIs.

5. Write and execute unit test cases using pytest to ensure code quality and reliability.

6. Implement CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment and integration.

7. Collaborate with database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases like CosmosDB.

8. Utilize popular Python frameworks such as Django and FastAPI to develop scalable web applications.

9. Ensure the robustness of APIs through continuous testing and improvement practices.

Required Skills and Experience:

1. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Python development.

2. Proven experience in developing RESTful APIs on top of both relational and non-relational databases.

3. Strong understanding of API testing, deployment, and maintenance.

4. Proficiency in using cloud platforms, preferably Azure.

5. Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices for efficient deployment processes.

Preferred Skills:

1. Knowledge of Azure Data Factory and Databricks is a plus.

2. Experience with cloud technologies and services to enhance application scalability and performance.
