DevOps Engineer

Skills and Experience-

• Strong experience in driving DevOps excellence.
• Strong understanding of varying cloud environments (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform etc.)
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience of configuration management tools (Docker, Kubernetes etc.) and deployment tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, etc.
• Strong knowledge of Linux environments in relation to security and networking.
• Strong Experience with containerization as well as container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Experience with log management systems, monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., Loki, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)
• Experience in coding/scripting (preferably NodeJS, Bash, PowerShell)
• Experience with administering and deploying to cloud-based environments
• Experience with distributed or micro services architecture, and event-driven architecture
• Experience monitoring enterprise applications at scale, including N-tier or multi-platform applications
• Experience with DB administration (like MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, etc.), caching systems (e.g., Redis, Memcached), messaging broker systems (e.g. RabbitMQ, Kafka)
• Experience in Cloud Native platforms including the design and automation of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) capabilities including virtual networks, virtual machines, cloud services, container services, data center OS services, web sites, data services, etc.
• Experience with CI/CD and build automation tools, with a focus on integration of automated testing into the deployment process
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and app-level protocols (e.g. HTTP request/response flow and REST APIs)
• Good working knowledge of version control systems such as Git, TFVC and their workflows.
• Quick learner, multi-task and adapt easily to all environments with very keen interest in and ability to learn new technologies.
• Strong technical analytical and troubleshooting skills, and possess an ability to explain technical concepts.

Key responsibilities-

• Create and implement automated scripts to standardize regular routine activities and checks on a day to day basis.
• Implement systems for better logging, error reporting and tracking on all environments.
• Implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure.
• Applying and/or coordinating new changes and updates/patches/releases to Applications.
• Administer and enhance monitoring tools/solutions to ensure applications are available and operating efficiently. Any outages are promptly identified, and any on-going risks addressed promptly.
• Working closely with the in-house Development and QA teams to bridge gaps between different stakeholders.
• Assist line manager in identifying gaps and providing temporary and permanent fixes on existing support and service management framework.
• Assist line manager in creating automated tools and scripts to make the most out of available infrastructure (back end optimization).
• Anticipate tomorrow's problems and set up proactive monitoring to avoid them.
• Continuously inspect and monitor development, QA and production operations processes and discuss and advocate possible opportunities for improvement.
• Implement performance benchmarking plans pre-release and on production, and produce weekly reports.
• Engage with technical stakeholders of the client and third parties to understand how their systems work.
• Ability to deliver results on time with high quality.
