We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled IT Project Management Officer (PMO) responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing projects within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members.
As part of the QTerminals IT team, the incumbent will work closely with all the departments of QTerminals. The role is based in QTerminals Hamad Port in Doha, Qatar, and reports to the IT Director.
Main Job Responsibilities:
- Manage IT programs and projects across the full lifecycle, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Work with the customer to determine and define the requirements, goals, scope, objectives and constraints of the project
- Ensure the scope statement is as agreed upon by the project team, customer, and other stakeholders; create the scope baseline and the process for scope change control
- Develop detailed project charters, work plans, schedules, budgets and resources planning.
- Identify project risks, create mitigation plans and resolve issues effectively.
- Track project progress and report regularly to all involved stakeholders and drive project steering committee meetings.
- Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful delivery of technological solutions.
- Conduct stakeholder reviews to ensure project goals and deliverables are aligned with organizational priorities.
- Execute the project plan, implement mechanisms to measure, record progress, and conduct ongoing analysis of variances, risks, and changes. Update/revise the project plan and report status.
- Get formal acceptance and sign-off of the project by the customer and validate that all conditions and deliverables of the project have been achieved.
- Establish and maintain project management standards, templates and methodologies across the organization.
- Act as a key point of contact for stakeholder communication regarding program and portfolio updates.
- Set client expectations and manage day-to-day client interaction
- Communicate with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions
- Continually seeking opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science / engineering or similar discipline from a reputable university.
- Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience
- PMP certification is required.
- Port or logistics experience will be added advantage
- Project management of Oracle Fusion, IBM Maximo, and Navis applications is a significant plus.
- Excellent organizational and conflict-solving skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
