IT Systems & Network Engineer

We are looking for an enthusiastic IT Systems & Network Engineer who will be responsible for the design, deployment, and management of secure and scalable IT infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments. This role ensures high availability, performance, and security of business-critical systems, while also contributing to strategic technology initiatives and mentoring junior staff. This will be based in Hamad Port reporting to the Head of IT Operations & Security.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable, secure IT and network infrastructure solutions.
• Administer hybrid environments (on-prem/cloud) with focus on performance, availability, and compliance.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies.
• Deploy advanced monitoring tools to ensure 24/7 system uptime.
• Lead incident response and perform root cause analyses.
• Implement and manage cybersecurity controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, MFA, and zero-trust architecture.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, GDPR, NIA, and other relevant standards.
• Manage enterprise-grade networking and server infrastructure.
• Oversee backup/storage systems (SAN, NAS, cloud).
• Apply updates and patches, ensuring minimal disruption and security compliance.
• Introduce automation to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Identify opportunities for improvement through performance analysis and trend reports.
• Drive standardization of IT processes and procedures.

Required Qualification and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• CCNA & CCNP, Microsoft Azure Solutions, CompTIA Security+, VMware Certified Professional (VCP) Palo Alto (PCNSE) & ITIL V4 Expert
• 5–7 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure and network engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in cloud and on-premises hybrid environments.
• Strong background in implementing cybersecurity frameworks and participating in IT audits.
• Experience in 24/7 operational environments and using automation tools.
• Enterprise networking (BGP, MPLS, VPN), Cloud platforms (Azure), Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), Security (IDS/IPS, zero-trust, vulnerability management), Scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, etc.), Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Good understanding of Qatar and GCC culture and working environment.
